How to use the Neewer X12 for Vertical iPhone Video (The Honest Way)

The Problem: Most hardware is "Horizontal First"

If you've bought a Neewer X12 or similar rig, you've realized the phone holder is an afterthought. Trying to mount an iPhone vertically usually puts the lens in the wrong spot or makes the whole thing tilt.

The Workaround

Instead of mounting your recording phone inside the box, try this:

  • Step 1: Put your recording iPhone on a separate tripod right behind the prompter glass.
  • Step 2: Use an iPad or a second phone inside the prompter tray to display the script.
  • Step 3: Use a web-based prompter with "Mirror Mode" enabled.

This keeps your eye-line perfect without the hardware headache.
